"Doris Maran...originally from an artsy little town in Silver Spring, Maryland, moved to Hawaii in 2000. With an interest in sharing her experience artistically she chose to share her photography professionally. Being commissioned to show her work at Maui's own Kahului Airport during the summer of 2005, is what gave Doris the recognition she was looking for. Maui’s beauty continues to inspire her to capture the subtleties of life which can be seen in her wide range of images. When viewing her work, timeless and inspired is the impression you are left with.

Bridal Boudoir Maui started with the Maui bride who wanted to give her groom something truly special, of herself. As the photographer, I have grown to see that what I do is not only for that bride but for every woman who wants to see herself the way the rest of the world sees her.

I have days where I don't feel sexy or my prettiest. Even on those days, inevitably some random person will extend a compliment that just leaves me wondering if they can see straight. I think that's crazy. I've finally figured it out. I don't look like I think I do. If that's true for me then it has to be true for a lot of other women too. It makes so much sense though. You compliment your girlfriend on how she's lost weight or how pretty she looks and she'll say "yeah right, I'm so fat!" Not only does she not see her own beauty, but she can't even thank you for saying or thinking it. It drives me nuts!

So...what I'm getting at is that I want to show you what you look like when you are not looking. You are beautiful. Even on your "fat" days you know it's true. Somewhere inside of you, you know there is and Inner Goddess dying to run the show. She's dying to show you how beautiful you really are if you'd just let yourself see it.

What I do is photograph Her.

My style is considered nude or Implied Nude. Modest draping and the illusion of nudity is often more alluring than the overt or obvious.

If you are ready to see yourself this way, I promise you'll have fun and will feel empowered. I guarantee that sometime in the middle of your shoot, a moment is will happen when you will be off guard and being herself. Something very natural comes through. You can't pose or fake that sort of thing. This is when the true magic happens. The "in between" is when we are the most beautiful.

Owning your beauty is beautiful.

Mahalo for visiting,
